Nepal Pokhara International Airport Project Successfully Completed Flight Calibration

The 7-day flight calibration work was carried out for Nepal Pokhara International Airport Project undertaken by National Aircraft Corporation. All calibration subjects were successfully passed at one time, and the flight calibration was a complete success, laying a foundation for the early operation of the project.

Nepal Pokhara International Airport is a 4D airport, funded by the Chinese government and constructed by CAMCE, a subsidiary of the State Machinery Group. The airport is designed according to the standards of China and the International Civil Aviation Organization. The runway is 2500 meters long, the terminal is nearly 15000 square meters, and the airport is equipped with new towers and other airport facilities. The airport can take off and land Airbus 320, Boeing 757 and other large aircraft.

Located at the southern foot of the Himalayas, Pokhara is a famous tourist resort. The original domestic airport in Pokhara is far from meeting the needs of local transportation and tourism development. The construction of a modern international airport has been the dream of the Nepalese people for 40 years. Therefore, once the project was approved, it was identified as the "National Honor Project" of Nepal. In October 2021, when Nepalese Prime Minister De Upa visited Pokhara International Airport, he highly praised China's technology, speed and responsible attitude. On March 26, 2022, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi submitted the golden key to the completion of the airport to the Nepalese government.

The Pokhara International Airport Project is a successful outcome of the China Nepal "the Belt and Road" cooperation and represents the profound friendship between the two peoples across the Himalayas. After the project is put into use, it will improve the domestic traffic conditions in Nepal, provide more convenient international routes for international tourists, effectively promote the tourism industry and economic and social development in Nepal, and create more development opportunities for people's livelihood.
